"Making art an accessible and immersive experience by blurring the line between the work and the viewer through touch, is to invite everyone to dive into the heart of creation, and fully savour its emotion and pleasure!" Frederic Zuzek
The artist
Frederic Zuzek, who signs ZuZ, is an emerging artist who has settled in the south-west of France on the Arcachon basin. His unique artistic journey began following a challenge launched by his children. What could have been just an ephemeral hobby quickly turned into a burning passion, a real addiction to creative expression. ZuZ chose to embrace his artistic practice in an instinctive way, letting his emotions and intuition guide her gestures and exploring the manipulation of matter, textures and color mixing. First integrating crushed oyster shells in his compositions, he adds an organic and symbolic dimension to his works. At the same time, he experiments with resin to create original visual effects.
ZuZ quickly expanded his artistic field of exploration by testing his techniques on new media. In particular, he turned to the 225-litre barrels, masterfully merging art and wine. Two of them are on display at the Cité Mondiale du Vin in Bordeaux.
Influenced by several trips in Asia, 2024 marks a turning point in his career with the desire for a new artistic orientation and the birth of his iconic character: ToccO
ToccO breaks the codes and especially the distance between the viewer and the work to make it even more accessible, especially by touch.
ToccO! In a universe where the strange and mysterious mingle with the dazzling and unexpected, emerges a unique being of its kind: ToccO, my character all in colors. ToccO is much more than a creature; it embodies a fascinating fusion between man and animal, between the terrestrial and the extraterrestrial. Tocco is a mesmerizing and intriguing hybrid. ToccO is an observer of our world. He listens, looks with his hypnotic eyes capable of scrutinizing souls and generating a whirlwind of emotions in those who meet his gaze. Through his name, ToccO, I also wanted to bring a third sense and break the distance between the viewer and the work to make it even more accessible . Indeed, in Italian, "tocco" means "to touch". It can also refer to a small piece or fragment of something, or even a touch, as in the context of painting (for example, "un tocco di colore" means "a touch of color"). If your heart tells you so you have the right to come closer and touch ToccO with delicacy. ToccO calls you from afar, ready it will surprise you because each work that represents ToccO presents hidden details, inviting to a careful exploration. One constant remains: his "gold tooth" as a signature. Contact Frederic Zuzek to exhibit or buy his works Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs.
