La galerie Dutko a le plaisir de présenter du 12 février au 2 avril 2022 une exposition personnelle de l’artiste française Béatrice Casadesus. Pour sa cinquième exposition dans la galerie,nous présenterons une vingtaine d’oeuvres récentes, réunies pour la première fois. Un texte d’Anne de Staël accompagnera le catalogue de cette exposition.

Dans un entretien récent pour les archives de l’école des Beaux Arts de Paris, Béatrice Casadesus revient sur son parcours dans cette institution où elle a été élève puis professeur. Admise au début des années 1960 au concours d’entrée en peinture, c’est en sculpture qu’elle poursuit ses études. Ce qui l’amènera à côtoyer des architectes et, par la suite, à réaliser de nombreuses commandes publiques dont ‘’Le grand livre des pas’’ qui se déploie sur les quatre niveaux de l’escalier principal de l ‘École de danse de l’Opéra construite par Christian de Portzamparc.

'Keith Haring, Art in action', an immersive solo exhibition at Opera Gallery Miami running until December 19. Undeniably one of the most influential artists of his time, the exhibition draws inspiration from the various iconic spaces Haring inhabited. Beyond just drawings, Keith Haring's art opened dialogue on love, sexuality, war, politics, AIDS and drug awareness. Conversations that continued throughout his prolific art career.

Opera Gallery is delighted to present ‘Keith Haring: Art in Action’, an immersive solo exhibition that celebrates Haring and his legacy, by remembering the spaces and places made special by Haring and his iconic drawings. Undeniably one of the most influential artists of his time, Haring shook up the art world one street drawing at a time and the buzz never really went away.

This is remembrance, an ode to an 80s New York full of possibilities, dreams and unstoppable creativity. Right in the center of this booming street culture was a group of artists who believed in art as a response to life itself, as a means of representing its grandness and intricacies in the frenetic rhythm of the time. Keith Haring was an integral part of this movement by occupying and engaging with underground scenes, creating art for causes that were close to humanity.

The streets and subway stations were Haring’s canvases, as he started devoting himself to lining the walls with his unmissable imageries and universal line-work, alive with playful kinetic energy. The idea was simple - to bring art closer to people, to create a pictorial vocabulary that can be comprehended by all, regardless of age, language and background. Beyond just drawings, Haring’s art symbolised his stance on post-modern currents of the time and opened dialogues on love, sexuality, war, politics, AIDS and drug-awareness - conversations that continued through his prolific art career. The result was like a light in darker times, inspiring a whole generation of people to believe in art, life, and how both intertwined.

« ORLAN
Les femmes qui pleurent sont en colère

Vernissage le samedi 20 novembre à 18h, en présence de l'artiste. du 24 novembre 2021 au 15 janvier 2022.

La galerie Eva Vautier a le plaisir de présenter l'artiste ORLAN avec la série, Les femmes qui pleurent sont en colère, commencée en 2019.

ORLAN, avec ses oeuvres engagées et politiques, interroge sur le statut de la femme dans la société contemporaine. Elle n'est pas assujettie à un matériau, à une technologie ou à une pratique artistique. Elle utilise la sculpture, la photo- graphie, la performance, la vidéo, la 3D, les jeux vidéo, la réalité augmentée, l'intelligence artificielle et la robotique (elle a créé un robot à son image qui parle avec sa voix) ainsi que les techniques scientifiques et médicales comme la chirurgie et les biotechnologies... pour interroger les phé- nomènes de société de notre époque).

Parmi ses oeuvres majeures, on compte le Baiser de l'artiste, qu'elle présente à la FIAC, en 1977 ou encore L'Origine de la guerre en 1989, reprenant L'Origine du monde de Gustave Courbet. Dans les années 1990, elle démarre une série d'opérations-chirurgicales-performances qu'elle met en scène.

À partir de 1998, elle crée les premières Self-Hybridations, utilisant les technologies numériques pour mixer son por- trait avec celui de Précolombiennes, d'Amérindiennes, d'Africaines, ou encore des masques de l'Opéra de Pékin et des Self-Hybridations sur commande telle que celle d'Agatha Ruiz de la Prada.

Les œuvres de la série Les femmes qui pleurent sont en colère sont inspirées des portraits de Picasso peignant sa compagne de l'époque, Dora Maar, en train de pleurer. Dans cette série, ORLAN hybride des fragments de son visage aux portraits de Dora Maar.

CHU TEH-CHUN

Chu Teh-Chun (1920 - 2014) is widely considered one of the most significant Chinese artists. He started his career in Hangzhou, China in the 1930s and eventually moved to Paris in 1955. Throughout the 20th century, his abstract paintings were exhibited all over the world, charming critics and art lovers with his ingenious blend of Chinese and French cultural elements and symbols.

Gracefully pushing back the limits of the real and the unreal, his paintings, which are vibrant and full of movement, have a profound sense of depth, poetry and musicality. Although his work demonstrates the stylistic freedom of mid-century movements such as art informel and abstract expressionism, Chu always retained the rigorous technical brushwork he learned as a student in mainland China.

La galerie Laurent Strouk est heureuse d’annoncer sa première collaboration avec l’artiste français Valentin van der Meulen et l’exposition personnelle qu’elle lui consacre du 19.11.2012 au 18.12.2021, doublée la première semaine d’une présentation d’un ensemble de pièces dans son espace de la rue du mail, qui offre de son oeuvre une vision panoramique. Intitulée « Mirage », l’exposition rassemble un ensemble de travaux récents qui témoignent des  recherches de l’artiste sur l’image et l’altération, entre mémoire et matérialité.
