Hashimoto Contemporary is pleased to present Liminal Space, a solo exhibition by Los Angeles-based Seonna Hong. Liminal Space will be the artist's third solo exhibition at Hashimoto Contemporary, in which she will be exhibiting a new series of mixed media expressionistic landscapes on canvas, that continue the exploratory adventures of her iconic characters.

Contemplating the transitional phases in life, the artist looked to the concept of liminal space for inspiration, the places and times in life where one is on the threshold of change. Described as being neither "here nor there," this in-between period of time in life can create a feeling of not just anxiety, but also joy and excitement for whats to come.

Immense succès pour ce premier solo show d'Aki Kuroda à la Richard Taittinger Gallery. Le public et les collectionneurs se pressent pour découvrir les immenses toiles récentes ainsi que quelques rares toiles anciennes.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in Tokyo in 1944, Aki Kuroda expressed interest in art his entire life and painted his first work at the age of four. His family was a significant influence on Kuroda as a young boy; his father brought him magazines such as "Le Minotaure" from Paris. Through these magazines Kuroda discovered the work of painters like Picasso and Dali, which inspired him at this early stage in his artistic career. These resources were extremely valuable to the self-taught artist, and in the 1960s Kuroda travelled in Europe and he eventually elected to settle in Paris in 1970. Kuroda struggled during his early years in Paris but a chance encounter with Marguerite Duras, and Andrien Maeght reversed his fortunes shortly before he had planned to give up and return to Japan. Through Galerie Maeght Kuroda was invited to show in the 11th Paris Biennial in 1980, launching his career in a meaningful way.

Diane Sloor, sa démarche artistique

Son talent inné pour la couleur l'a d'abord conduite à l'aquarelle. Amoureuse inconditionnelle d'art pictural depuis son plus jeune âge, Diane SLOOR a choisi de consacrer la plus grande partie de son temps à la peinture dès 2009. Mais comment d'exprimer ses pensées, qui seront gravées dans la toile, quand les idées sont par essence changeantes et profondément liées aux intuitions du moment, de la main ?

Il lui est alors venue après maintes heures de travail, une technique, sans doute le fruit d'un heureux hasard, d'utiliser un exercice ancestral :  le palimpseste (du grec ancien « gratter de nouveau ») ; ne sachant au début, que peu dessiner et étant naturellement attirée par l'abstraction. Les teintes mates ou soyeuses circulent et cherchent leur place.   La toile se dénude ou se remplit au gré de son processus de transformation. Les nombreuses couches chromatiques atteignent ainsi la lumière. Inspirée par ses lectures elle s'efforce dans ses réalisations, d'aussi bien peindre que "dépeindre".

Opening at Vieux Chalet in Gstaad on the 2 February 2020, ‘Picasso Through the Lens of David Douglas Duncan’ gives a remarkable insight into the work and life of Picasso. Ceramics and paintings by the artist are presented in tandem with vintage photographs taken by the legendary photographer David Douglas Duncan during a period of unprecedented access to the artist’s studio. The works on view, created concurrently with the photographs, can be encountered as an ‘intervention’ throughout the domestic spaces of the chalet. The photographs, some of which have never been exhibited before, give an intimate portrait of the artist at work and at home. The project has been organised in close collaboration with the artist’s son, Claude Picasso, and James Koch, Partner at Hauser & Wirth.

David Douglas Duncan was a renowned war photographer, photojournalist, and a self-described nomad. He was among the most influential photographers of the last century, capturing World War II, the Vietnam War, and photo essays for Life magazine which enabled him to roam the world. The resulting images filled more than 25 books, including eight on Picasso. Duncan’s first encounter with Picasso happened in February 1956 when he infamously rang the doorbell of La Californie, Picasso’s home in Cannes. The artist’s wife, Jacqueline, led him upstairs and he met Picasso in his bathtub, who allowed Duncan to photograph him. From that starting point, the photographer developed a lasting friendship with Picasso over the course of 17 years during which time he captured an astounding visual archive of the artist’s life at La Californie.

Suzanne Tarasieve est heureuse de présenter la première exposition personnelle d’Antoine Roegiers à la galerie, intitulée Le carnaval des géants.

Artiste Belge qui vit depuis l’âge de 3 ans en France, pluridisciplinaire, il sort diplômé des Beaux-Arts de Paris en 2007 avec les félicitations du jury et récompensé du Prix Roger Bataille.
C’est justement à l’école des Beaux-Arts qu’Antoine Roegiers entame ce travail sur les maîtres flamands qui l’amèneront à puiser dans les grandes oeuvres de Brueghel, Bosch, Rubens, mais aussi les peintres et graveurs belges du XIXe siècle Ensor et Rops. Il se sert de différents supports et techniques, parmi lesquelles les dessins à la plume ou à l’acrylique, le travail d’animation vidéo et la peinture à l’huile sur bois et sur toile.
Il dialogue ainsi avec les grands maîtres à plusieurs siècles d’intervalles par le prisme d’un regard contemporain. Il livre une version personnelle et drôle de ces géants de l’art et emmène le visiteur dans ses propres rêveries à l’intérieur de ces riches mondes picturaux.

Zoé B – 柔伊·B

Painter Artist and Psychiatrist, the inner world is for Zoé B an inspiration and Art its expression. Painting was her first therapy, soon fueled by a growing interest for psychology and symbolism while opening herself to spirituality, including the study of biblical texts and meditation. Such an introspective period led her to start an analysis and train to later become a Psychiatrist “in free awaken dream”. In her everlasting quest of sense, Zoé B discovered the symbolism of the Hebrew Letters. After a few years of study and personal research on the topic, she approached the Art of calligraphy in 2005 with renowned calligrapher Frank LALOU. Such an almost daily practice deeply influenced her painting which grew in terms of expression and accuracy. Whether it comes to painting, calligraphy, psychiatry or spirituality, the corner stone of her artistic statement is the try to understand and apprehend humanity in all its complexity. Her Artworks, definitely modern, amaze, surprise, and even disturb sometimes but always invite the viewer to let go and to the introspection.

自從柔伊·B (Zoé B) 受到精神分析的培訓以來，內心世界就是他的一個靈感來源及表達的藝術⽅式。繪畫作為他的第一個藝術治療，很快地便開啟了他對心理學及符號學的濃厚興趣。同時，藉由聖經⽂本的研讀和冥想，打開了他對靈性的⽣活。在這段時期的內省他進行了分析，而後在“自由醒夢”之中訓練心理分析專家。ZoéB在對意義的永恆追求中，發現了希伯來字母的象徵意思。經過幾年的學習與個人研究，在2005 年向著名書法家弗蘭克·拉魯 Frank LALOU 接觸了書法藝術。這個幾乎每日的操練影響了他的作品，使他的表現力與精準度都得到了提升。無論是繪畫、書法、精神分析還是靈性，他論述的基石都是試圖明白和理解人性所有的復雜性。他的作品充滿堅定的現代性，令人著迷、驚奇，儘管時而令人不安，但卻又總是能讓人放下與內省。

Pour la première exposition de l’année 2020, Espace A VENDRE présente un solo-show enthousiasmant de Quentin Spohn. Cet artiste, qui a fait de la pierre noire son meilleur allié, présentera une série de nouveaux dessins sur papier dans le showroom et déploiera une fresque monumentale et grandiose qui occupera la totalité de la salle la plus vaste d' Espace A VENDRE : Le Château

Formé à la Villa Arson, dont il est diplômé depuis 2013, Quentin Spohn enchaine depuis expositions et prix, confortant une pratique singulière, virtuose, fascinante. Triplement récompensé lors du salon Jeune Création en 2017 (lauréat des prix Filaf, Art Collector et Jennifer Flay), il a participé à des expositions à Nice (Villa Cameline, Villa Arson, Galerie de la Marine, etc.), Paris (Espace Niemeyer, galerie Thaddeus Ropac, Bastille Design Center, etc.), Bordeaux ou Marseille. Il a également fait l’objet de plusieurs expositions personnelles à Paris (Premier Regard), Pékin, ou Nice (Le Dojo).

Dans le cadre de la commémoration du centenaire des Studios La Victorine, au 109 par la ville de Nice au Pôle de Cultures de la ville, 89 route de Turin. Exposition “La vie est un film” par Ben Vautier, un défilé de mode “Fashion Week”. Exposition du 15 juin au 19 octobre 2019, du mardi au samedi de 13h à 19h.
